DX type scanner replacing the RB type...
Caution regarding radar cables!
The raw cable and the ‘down-end’ connector are identical for the RB type scanner and the new DX type. However, as the DX scanner has built in power supply, a pair of wires are connected differently in order to obtain maximum cable length. And further, the power wires of the RB714 cable are not connected at all.
Recommendation
From the factory it is recommended to use the correct cable type. However, if the situation is such that it is not possible to replace the existing radar cable, there is an alternative solution for both an RB715 and RB714 installation.

Please contact me for details of this procedure but note the procedure requires the skills of competant technician. Where possible a new cable should be used.

UPGRADES
As the new software provides other improvements apart from the Radar functions, software will be FOC for upgrades to units within warranty period and will be carried out for labour and freight costs only. Proof of purchase to be provided.

For models outside of warranty there will be an extra charge for the new software unless a new scanner is purchased to make full use of the new version, in which case the software will be FOC as described above.

Regard Frank
