Reminder re Electronic Service Testing Fees.

This is republished as we are still recieving in obsolete products that are no longer supported from the factories.

March 2005 OBSOLETE PRODUCTS
We are seeing a number of obsolete products still being sent in for repairs without prior authority.
Notifications of obsolete products has been advised and authorisation to send in these models is required.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide free repair estimates because being a QA company our overheads are expensive with test equipment requiring NATA calibration each year. We cannot use it for free.

Those items that cannot be repaired will be returned with a testing fee invoice. However we will provide a credit of the testing fee (excluding freight) on the proviso a new current model unit be purchased of equivelant quality within 30 days.

The costs for testing single items such as GPS, VHF Radio, Echo Sounders, Chartplotters is $41.25
For systems such as Radars, Autopilots, Sonars $82.50.


REPAIR ESTIMATES (Quotes)
We provide the requested estimates soon as possible and when the goods are still stripped down and on the bench. We expect the answer from you to go ahead or not, at that time. Unfortunately we cannot wait for hours, days and in some cases weeks because the benches are needed for other repairs.
It is not economical to have test equipment tied up waiting for repair authorisation as it slows down repairs for other customers.

If we have to put it away and start again when authorisation does arrive, then the estimate will be increased by the testing fees which compensates for the extra time spent setting it back up on the bench.
